Educational Puzzles For Toddlers

You've probably seen me post about these type of puzzles before.  This puzzle is by the same brand/company, Petit Toys.  Petit Toys is a company that specializes in bringing fun and educational puzzles to kids, which will have them playing with these for hours.

brody and his alphabet puzzle

My 3 year old grand son, Brody, absolutely loves these puzzles.  They are somewhat easy for him, with the snail puzzle (shown below) a little more challenging.  They help your child learn their alphabet, as well as develop eye-hand coordination, motor skills and recognition of shapes, letters and colors.

Every time I receive one of these puzzles, he instantly wants to unbox it, unwrap it and begin playing with them immediately.  When it's time to go home, he wants to take these puzzles with him...can you blame him?  He is the type that loves to try and figure things out and these puzzles are perfect for that.

These puzzles come with a yellow storage bag to keep all your pieces together.  The alphabet puzzle contains key words on the wooden board.  Each alphabet piece has a corresponding animal on the puzzle board, to help your child not only learn what the letter is, but the animal that begins with that letter.

wooden puzzle

The alphabet pieces are wooden and are perfect size for small hands, but large enough to prevent your child from choking on them.  This puzzle is great for home, school or even for birthdays and children parties.

The snail puzzle has softer puzzle pieces.  They are smaller, so parent supervision is required.  The snail pieces are also alphabet related, but a little more challenging.  Your child has to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, going with the order of the alphabet.  Once completed, your child has a vibrant
colored snail!

Kid Games That Your Toddler Will Love!

How many games does your pre-schooler or toddler have?  Is there a particular one that is their favorite?  Well, when Goliath Games reached out to me to try a few of their kid games, I could not have been more excited!  I have a two year old toddler grandson with a wild imagination and a love of games (even though he doesn't seem to want to play by the rules!)

Goliath Games has TONS of games and toys to choose from and I had no clue which games they were sending...until now!  The games that Goliath Games sent were geared toward the ages of 3-4 years old, but although my two year old grandson was under this age range, he still enjoyed playing these games on his own terms!

Let me tell you...EVERY SINGLE DAY, he thinks he has to drag every one of these games out, spread them across my living room floor or table and play with each and every one of them...at the same time!  He may be only two years old, but he is starting to understand how each game works!  He loves finding the matching shapes on the bottom of each duckie of Lucky Ducks Game.  He loves feeding the pig, just to watch the pig's belly POP of Pop the Pig, fish for fishies of the Let's Go Fishin and wait in anticipation for the shark to jump out of the water with Shark Bite!

Let's start with:
POP THE PIG

Pop the Pig ® is an international preschool classic that is adored by millions of children – it was the top-selling preschool game in 2016 and 2017 according to retailer sales data collected by NPD! Kids spin the spinner, pop a hamburger into the pig’s mouth and push down on his head. The more they pump, the more his belly grows until . . . pop!

Kids love the suspense as they watch his belly grow; the player who makes his belly burst loses the game. Children can quickly reset this pig game with one pump of the pig’s head and experience consistent belly busting game-play each and every time. Pop the Pig provides hours of fun and is completely kid powered (no batteries needed). For added convenience, all pieces can be stored inside the pig. Kids won’t see a pop up pirate, but they will get to pop a pig. For ages 4 and up, 2-6 players. From the makers of Gooey Louie and Jumping Jack.

Fun, Fast Paced Dice Game - Rally Roll - by Blue Orange Games

***This post may contain affiliate links, which means, if you make a purchase, I may receive a small commission.

When I was younger, I used to play board games all the time.  Now that I'm older, I don't get to play games as often as I would like. The only games that I find myself playing, occasionally, are card games.

I will be the first to admit, I'm a sore loser...let me rephrase that...I USED to be a sore loser when it came to games.  Monopoly was one of my favorite board games and there was a time, when my family and I were playing.  Of course, there were two younger children who didn't quite get the grip of the game, or how to buy properties, to increase their chance of winning.  My husband didn't seem to know when to STOP helping them, throughout the game.

Well, since I was losing terribly, I decided that no one was going to win.  I instantly flipped the board up in the air and swiped all the money into the floor! I kid you not...I ACTUALLY DID THIS! Can you imagine the stares I received from all three players?  I have never lived this one down.

On another occasion...several months ago, I decided I wanted to play Rummy (a card game.)  It was me, my husband and another person, who is like a daughter to me.  She had no clue how to play the game and I instantly said, "Oh, we will teach you, you will love it!"  Needless to say, my husband was constantly telling her which cards to lay down, how to make a spread, etc.  Once again, the competition mode set in, I was losing and getting frustrated and next thing I knew, I was tossing the cards up in the air and said, "NOW, NO ONE IS PLAYING!"

Well...let me introduce to you a game, where NO ONE CAN CHEAT!  Yah, for me! This game is called Rally Roll and it's by Blue Orange Games (you can find it here).  There are 6 die (dices), travel pouch and rules.  The object of the game is to reach 50 points, to win, without busting.  There are 5 dices that have colored numbers and one larger dice, without numbers (just colors).  If any of your 5 dices matches the color of the larger dice, you can keep rolling and tallying up your points.  You can either continue (in hopes that you don't bust) or you can bank them and it's the next person's turn.

There are special exceptions to the game.  You can gain more points if all your colored numbers match the color of the larger dice.  This is such a fast paced and fun game, that I cannot wait to play with my family and friends.

You can purchase this game HERE.  It's available at Amazon for a very low price.  Here is the direct link; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N29IJZE .

16 Glass Roulette Drinking Game by Bo Toys

Okay...I know some of you like to party and some of you like to host or have parties, especially around Christmas and New Years Eve.  There may be several games involved (drinking ones, I'm sure) and tons of food for your guests.  What party would be a hit without games!  Games keep the guests happy, entertained and fun for the whole evening.

Bo Toys and Gifts has this awesome casino like game, that is a roulette.  Not only is it a roulette, but it's also a drinking game...yeah you partiers, you heard me, a drinking game! This game has 16 glass shot glasses and two tiny silver balls.  The way to play this game:  spin the roulette wheel and whatever number it lands on, that person is up.  If you have the corresponding shot glass and the balls land on your number...DRINK UP and spin again!

The game is approximately 12 inches in diameter, consists of a casino type roulette wheel, 16 glass shot glasses and two balls.  The wheel is very easy to spin and the shot glasses are made of real glass...not plastic.  Spin and see what number it lands on.  Have fun.  This game is sure to be a hit with all your guests.  It will keep you busy for hours...hmmm.
