I found that this hamper DOES hold quite a bit.  I decided to test it out, not using baby clothes, but my own things.  The hamper can be easily moved from one area of the room to another, without any problems.  Although the hamper came folded in half and then folded again (in a small circular fashion), getting it back to the smallest form it came in took some figuring out, but once I figured it out, it was a breeze!  The hamper can be folded, easily, in half and will slide behind a bed, dresser drawer or tucked away in the closet.
