Why Kitchen Knives Should Matter To Knife Enthusiasts

If you love hunting, hiking, camping, or just showing off a cool-looking knife, you may not think about the power of a good blade in the humdrum home kitchen. But what if you could feel like an explorer in your own home? How can kitchen knives benefit a hunter and camp cook?
Read more here: https://kioroknives.com/blogs/news/why-kitchen-knives-should-matter-to-knife-enthusiasts.

There's a difference when it comes to knives being used in the kitchen and knives used while camping and hunting.  A knife is not just a knife.  Kioro Knives explains the difference between knives, how to store and keep them safe during traveling and more, here.

A butcher knife is used if you plan on hunting and fishing, while a thin, long blade knife is ideal for cutting around bones in fish.  Kioro Knives has some awesome looking knives for to handle any type of job you need.  You can search their products by Knife Type, Knife Material or by Best Deals.  They even have sets that you can purchase that compliment each other.

System Sharpener Knife Sharpener Review & Giveaway!

I can't tell you how happy I was to get a knife sharpener from System Sharpener.  There are many knife sharpeners out there, but I love the modern and classy look of this particular one.  It doesn't look like your everyday black or silver sharpener, instead, it is a vibrant Lime Green with silver accents.

Of course, I had to put this little baby to test as soon as I received it!  I've had knife sharpeners before, some that were nothing but a grinding stick, but I found that this little gem worked!  I have so many dull knives in my kitchen drawers, that I get disgusted when I can't find a sharp one, just to cut through something simple.

The System Sharpener has a little black lever that you snap down, which has a suction cup bottom.  This is to prevent the sharpener from moving or slipping while sharpening your knives.  It also frees your hands so you have no accidents.  There are two sides, or two slots in this sharpener.   The first is to sharpen, which is perfect for blunt knives (not recommended for serrated knives.) This step should be done every six months or as needed. The second slot is for honing.  Honing is a necessary step used to eliminate burrs on a knife and to polish it.  This should be done  once a week to keep your knives sharp at all times.

STEP 1:  COARSE SHARPENING
Suitable for blunt knives.  Place knife in the sharpening slot.  Using slight downward pressure, run blade from its heel to its point through the slot.  Repeat three to five times. Sharpen knives every six months or as needed.

STEP 2:  FINE HONING
This is a necessary step used to eliminate burrs on a knife and to polish it.  Place knife in the sharpening slot.  Using a slight downward pressure, run the blade from its heel to its point through the slot.  Repeat three to five times.  Normally it's recommended to sharpen your knives once a week to keep blades sharp at all times.

This sharpener is not recommended for serrated blades or scissors!  It can be used with ceramic knives, but only for coarse sharpening.  This is NOT dishwasher safe.  Clean by using a wet cloth and dry it.  The metal blades may turn black, which is normal.

If you want to get your hands on this handy dandy tool, head on over to Amazon and get yours today, for only $13.45.  AND WHILE YOU'RE AT IT...I'm also doing a giveaway for one of these knife sharpeners....SO ENTER TODAY!
