I love vests...any vest...as it seems when you add a vest to your outfit, it gives your outfit a whole different look.   Sure, you can wear your tunic, long shirt or even a t-shirt without one, but as soon as you put on a vest, your wardrobe takes on a whole new appearance.  To me, it just seems like it adds that finishing touch.  A vest can turn your ordinary outfit into something more elegant and dressy.

The vest shown below, is the Ssyiz Women's Faux Fur Feather Long Hair Fashion Casual Vest.  Now, I know that the description states "casual", but there is nothing casual about this vest!  It has fur, feathers and has a more dressy and elegant look to it.  Pair this fur feather vest up with some black leggings and black boots, and you have yourself a winner!  This vest is a statement piece to me.  It gives off that, "notice me" vibe, as well as it should!

The vest is very lightweight and comes slightly past my hips.  I am 5'2" and this is the perfect length for me.  I will tell you, this vest comes in Asian size, therefore, you will need to make sure that you order yours a size or two larger, as Asian sizes run smaller than U.S. sizes.  I do love the whole look of this vest, as it goes well with many items in my closet. With that being said, I should have requested a size or two larger.  This vest, shown here, is a size Large (Large being Asian size), which means, I should have requested an XL or XXL. Although I can slip into this vest, I would have liked for it to come across my bust area more.

The vest is very very soft to the touch and feels very nice on.  It is a very fashionable looking vest that will have everyone asking where you got it.  I received a lot of compliments on this vest.  It's different, it has a feathery look to it and it is a bold black with a hint of grey/white to it.  Very classy and elegant.

Plush Faux Fur Throw Pillow by Emporium Elegance Review

Decorating your house can either be fun or become a chore.  When you think about decorating your home, you may think about paint color, curtains, accessories for the tables...right down to the accent and throw pillows for your sofa and couch.

I love throw pillows, especially ones that accent my microfiber couch.  I look for colors that will both blend and offset my couch, but are different.  It's very hard to find reasonably priced throw pillows in department stores, and even my local Walmart does not have a very big selection to choose from, and the ones I do like, I might as well purchase them from a department store or online.

That's why I am thrilled to have stumbled across Emporium Elegance on Etsy.  Emporium Elegance has so many pillows to choose from, ranging from solid colored Plush Faux Fur pillows to Vintage Floral Throw pillows.  AND, you can choose your size! That is one of the things I love about Emporium Elegance throw pillows, on Etsy.  You can choose from a

These pillows are well worth the prices.  The pillow I received, was the 12 x 12 faux fur throw pillow in a Beige color.  My microfiber couch is a dark brown, so the Beige color was perfect, as I already had a pillow that had a mixture of browns and beiges in it.


These Faux Fur Pillows are fully stuffed and are machine washable.  When you get ready to wash them, you will want to use cold water - gentle cycle.  The Faux Fur pillows have a very soft Faux Fur on one side and smooth polyester fabric lining on the opposite side.  These pillows are so soft and plush and Emporium Elegance did not skimp on the plushness!!

DIY Personalized Cork Board

Couple years ago, I had a co-worker and friend ask me if I could make a personalized cork board for her three daughters.  I have never even attempted to make one, let alone, knew how to make one.  This was to be a Christmas present for both girls, that would be hung up in their dining room for display.

The mother wanted it to display photos, as well as other important things in her girls lives.  She contacted me because she knew I made hair bows and re constructed T-shirts, among other things.  She always saw my "next DIY creation"  on Facebook.  I give credit to Pinterest!  

Pinterest has been my inspiration for many many things, including: reconstructed t-shirts, jewelry, hair bows, DIY household products and much much more.  So....what do you think I did when I was asked to make this personalized cork board?  Yep, I went straight to Pinterest!  There, I could get some kind of pattern, color and design ideas.  Here is the photo of the finished cork board.  Mind you, it's the very first one I've ever done.

The board is covered with a pink and purple fabric.  I wrapped the cork board in the fabric, pulled it tight and brought the ends to the back and stapled it.  I then bought two purple and pink boas, also purchased at Walmart and hot glued them to the fabric board.  To get the letters to look the way they did, I had some stencils and traced the letters onto the board, very lightly, but dark enough to where I could see the letters.  Next came the rhinestones.  I hot glued the rhinestones, to the traced letters and finished it off with a hand made bow I made.

You will need at least a yard more of fabric in making a cork board similar to this.  You will need enough to where you can staple the fabric to the back of the board.  The rhinestones, it's easier to hot glue and work with the larger stones than it is with the smaller ones.  I ended up purchasing two cases, approximately $5 - $6 for each case.  Boas were about $6.00 each.  Fabric, if you can find a nice looking fabric on the $1.00 clearance, go for it.  This was not the case for this board, as it needed to be pink, purple and girly.  This fabric ran me around $2.00 per yard.
