Oh what fun, it is to craft, with glitter! I love glitter. There are so many things you can do with it and it's just so pretty! I love the sparkles, the shine and working with it. If you have little kids, you can create many paper crafts with glitter or make fairy bottles and sprinkle it around where you may find fairies! You can also add the glitter to your finger nail polish, your makeup (watch the eyes!) and even apply it to your hair and face.
There are numerous things you can do with glitter and Allison, over at The Unicorn Crafts Etsy Shop, has a variety of glitter to choose from. The glitter shown here is the Surprise 10 Pack Glitter Samples, where each glitter container consist of various colors. Just about every color imaginable can be found at The Unicorn Crafts Etsy Shop.
Allison gave some great tips on how or what to use the glitter. You can hairspray your hair, add a little glitter where you want it to stay and hairspray your hair again, for staying power and shine. Try applying it to the side of your face or even on your arms and hands. Want a little shine to your body? Why not add a little to your lotion and apply to areas you want to sparkle!
The glitter comes in ten 1/2 gram sample sized plastic bottles, with screw on caps, so you can reseal it without worry of any spillage. What little girl (or adult kids) wouldn't want to play and experiment with a wide range of colorful glitter?
The glitter just sparkles and shines under the lights and I love to mix a couple colors together, for added fun. Take a look at how one customer used the gold glitter. So creative and neat!
Go check out The Unicorn Crafts Etsy Shop and explore all 66 items they have available. Allison sells 10 packs, 3 packs, Glitter bottles, Glitter pendants, magnets and more.

Seredipitini
Today, I would like to feature an Etsy Seller, Teena Stewart, who also has her own blog...Serendipitini. She has an Etsy Store, Serendipitini, that features many handmade items, such as Hanging Lantern made from wine bottles, Window Art Suncatchers, plus much more.
The purpose of Teena Stewart's Serendipitini's site, is to support, equip and promote handmade gifts and the artisans who create them, as well as encourage creative reuse and spotlight the artists lifestyle and to showcase Teena's work as well. Here are a few of my favorites from Serendipitini.
CLEAR WINE BOTTLE CANDLE HOLDER
Wine bottle candle holder from recycled wine bottle. The bottom is cut out of an old wine bottle (clear) and embellished with recycled glass similar to beach glass . Recycled copper wire holds a votive candle. Lift to light.
Great for indoor or outdoor use. Great hostess gifts, house warming gift, gift for wine lovers.
How cute is this! Love the small detail Teena put into this wine bottle candle holder, right down to the little wire hook at the bottle. Very creative.
WINDOW ART SUNCATCHER
Window art Eco friendly suncatcher reuses recycled glass bottles and recycled picture frame. Green glass Main picture frame is 4 1/2" x 6" and w dangle is three tired. Item #WA1003
A beautiful wall hanging or window decor or use as garden art. Your purchase helps the environment by keeping items that would otherwise be discarded out of landfills.
Teena puts her own spin on a picture frame! I love how the green glass bottle compliments the gold frame and the swirly dangle that hangs from it!
GLASS SPOON REST
Eco friendlyspoon rest from recycle bottles. Pressed glass melted bottle is kiln slumped. Copper wire wrap. SR002C
(12 1/2 long x 3" wide)
This has got to be one of the most unique things I've seen, made from glass. I love the color, I love the simplicity yet artistic look of this spoon rest. I don't believe you will find another spoon rest like this!
If you want to see all of Teena Stewart's handmade art, go visit her on Etsy. Her store is Serendipitini. She also has her own online stores, Serendipitini Pet and Serendipitini, where you will find a lot of her unique handcrafted items that are not featured on Etsy.

DIY Personalized Cork Board
Couple years ago, I had a co-worker and friend ask me if I could make a personalized cork board for her three daughters. I have never even attempted to make one, let alone, knew how to make one. This was to be a Christmas present for both girls, that would be hung up in their dining room for display.
The mother wanted it to display photos, as well as other important things in her girls lives. She contacted me because she knew I made hair bows and re constructed T-shirts, among other things. She always saw my "next DIY creation" on Facebook. I give credit to Pinterest!
Pinterest has been my inspiration for many many things, including: reconstructed t-shirts, jewelry, hair bows, DIY household products and much much more. So....what do you think I did when I was asked to make this personalized cork board? Yep, I went straight to Pinterest! There, I could get some kind of pattern, color and design ideas. Here is the photo of the finished cork board. Mind you, it's the very first one I've ever done.
You will need at least a yard more of fabric in making a cork board similar to this. You will need enough to where you can staple the fabric to the back of the board. The rhinestones, it's easier to hot glue and work with the larger stones than it is with the smaller ones. I ended up purchasing two cases, approximately $5 - $6 for each case. Boas were about $6.00 each. Fabric, if you can find a nice looking fabric on the $1.00 clearance, go for it. This was not the case for this board, as it needed to be pink, purple and girly. This fabric ran me around $2.00 per yard.
Have you made a personalized cork board? What does yours look like?

AUDREY, ADDISON AND KENDALL
I know they were proud of this!
The board is covered with a pink and purple fabric. I wrapped the cork board in the fabric, pulled it tight and brought the ends to the back and stapled it. I then bought two purple and pink boas, also purchased at Walmart and hot glued them to the fabric board. To get the letters to look the way they did, I had some stencils and traced the letters onto the board, very lightly, but dark enough to where I could see the letters. Next came the rhinestones. I hot glued the rhinestones, to the traced letters and finished it off with a hand made bow I made.
