I received my 4 bottles of wine a few days ago and I must admit, Winc done a pretty good job of choosing 4 random flavors, based off the results of the quiz I took.  I will have to say (and this should come to no shock if you know me) but the Merlot was my favorite...or was it the Rosa Obscura (red wine?)  Either way, these were my two favorites!  I don't drink white wine, not that I don't like it, but Merlot has always been my top pick.  The Funk Zone was a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and two other white wines and I actually liked this wine.  It was a little on the dry side, but that is how I like my wine.  The Funk Zone bottle was a fun designed looking bottle, which made it the first one I opened.

The bottles came carefully well packaged in a box, that displays the company's name, Winc.  I had a convenient handle at the top, easy for carrying around.  Inside the box were the 4 bottles, nicely nestled under crate material.  The selection I chose were 2 white and 2 reds.  I can't tell you how eager I was to tear into each one, but being the more responsible and somewhat patient person I am...I decided to open two - just to compare Winc's red and white.

Yoga, Wine and The Bachelor Yoga Tank by Baffle

When it comes to Summer clothing, I am a big fan of shorts and tank tops.  I love loose tank tops and tank tops that make a statement.  The tank top shown here, is a tank top that I think many women would love!  I mean...come on...what woman doesn't love wine?  The Bachelor?  Yoga?  Ok, maybe your're not into yoga, but this tank top is awesome!

#Winebee Red Wine Trio

Ok, so you probably know by now, if you've been following me, that I love my wine.  I'm an avid wine lover and red wine's seem to be my favorite.  Don't get me wrong, I love white wine's, but some of them tend to be a little too sweet for my taste.  I love wines that have a rich, robust and dry taste.  That's why red is my way to go.  

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to enjoy not one, but three bottles of Wine Bee's red wines.  The trio that I tried (which I may say I absolutely loved!) were; Quota 31 Primitivo 2012, Castello Vicchiomaggio - Rippa delle Mandorle 2013 and Luretta - Gutturnio Superiore 2012.  All three of these red wines had a distinct flavor that I loved.  

The first bottle I tried was the Luretta- Gutturnio Superiore 2012.  After one glass of this, I thought this was going to by my favorite.  It had a rich, dry and robust flavor that I loved.  It made a statement and you knew you were drinking a good quality wine....but then I tried Quota 31 Primitivo 2012...hands down...my favorite!  Maybe because it contained 14% alcohol, or maybe it had that dry, still taste of rich black fruit, spicy plum and licorice, either way, I fell in love with it!  It had such a nice, smooth flavor.  The third bottle, Castello Vicchiomaggio - :Rippa delle Mandorle 2013 was another awesome wine.  It contains 13% alcohol and has a blend of Cabernet and Sangiovese.  This wine has a fruity taste with hints of dark cherry and black currants with subtle oak and herbal notes.

All three of these wines had such an addicting taste.  After I went through all three bottles, I went to my local store and bought my regular...Merlot.  I was sad to say, that I had gotten so used to the great tasting Quota 31 Primitivo 2012, that my regular Merlot kind of let me down!

CASTELLO VICCHIOMAGGIO-RIPPA DELLE MANDORLE 2013

Style:    Dry, Still
Region: Tuscany, Italy
Varietal:75% Sangiovese. 25% Cabernet Sauvignon
Alcohol: 13%
Vintage: 2013

Intense Ruby Red color with dark cherry and black currant. Provides notes of oak and subtle herbal.  Round and smooth with good acidity.

Pairs well with: grilled chicken, cold cuts, pasta, pork









MENHIR SALENTO - QUOTA 31 PRIMITIVO 2012

Style:    Dry, Still
Region:  Puglia, Italy
Varietal: 100% Primitivo (Zifandel)
Alcohol:  14%
Vintage:  2012

Aromas of ripe black fruit, spicy plum, graphite and a whiff of brine.  Ripe and mildly sweet with a hint of spice.  The savory palate doles out blackberry, blueberry, licorice, ground black pepper with brawny tannins.  Ends on a bitter prune note.

Pairs well with: cold cuts, roasted lamb, rabbit with wild thyme, roast potatoes and aged cheeses.





LURETTA - GUTTURNIO SUPERIORE 2012

Style:     Dry, Still
Region:  Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Varietal: 50% Barbera  50% Bonarda
Alcohol:  13.5%
Vintage:  2012

 This wine has a unique flavor with blends of Barbera and Bonarda.  It has a deep purple red color.  Full bodied wine with notes of ripe cherries and vanilla.  Has a rich and velvety taste.

Pairs well with: roast beef, parmigiano, beef carpaccio and medium aged pecorino.

Vino Slush Mix

Who doesn't love a nice, cold frozen drink during the summer time?  Okay, I know it's just about winter right now, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a nice frozen or even chilled drink in front of a nice, warm fire.  One of my favorite drinks is a frozen drink, mixed with wine....imagine that!  It can be chilled, frozen or on the rocks, it doesn't matter.  

This Vino Slush Mix, shown below, is a mix that you can mix with a bottle of wine...red or white...doesn't matter, but I prefer it with red.  All you have to do is mix it, freeze it and then serve.  It's as simple as that.  When you hear the name Vino Slush, the first thing that may come to your mind is a slushy... and you would be correct, because this Vino Slush Mix, when frozen and then allowed to thaw a bit, becomes a slushy.  

The Vino Slush Mix contains all natural ingredients: Tea, Citric Acid, Sugar, Natural Flavoring and Beet Powder.  When mixed with wine, it tastes absolutely delicious!  Not too sweet, but sweet enough.  Depending also on the wine you use, it can be sweeter when used with a Moscato wine or less sweet, by using a Merlot.  Either way, this tastes divine! I will be the first to admit...I'm clumsy.  I bump into things, trip over things and even drop things, constantly!  I even had an episode not too long ago, where I was coming inside the house, from the hot tub and slid across my kitchen floor, wine glass in hand and fell...hence, wine glass shattered everywhere!  Yeah, not a good idea to RUN into the house with wet feet and a wood floor!

I love my wine, especially Merlot and Pinot Grigio!  Sometimes, I may want a glass of wine before I can get it chilled enough to drink.  Yes...I love all my wines chilled, but it doesn't' have to be perfectly chilled...just not room temperature!  

That  is why I couldn't pass up the offer to try the VinoMio #WineChiller! This Wine Chiller came in a perfect sized white box, with exactly what the wine chiller looks like.  I was not familiar how one worked, so I read the instructions on how to use it.  Very self explanatory and very very easy.

Most people, including me, keeps the wine chiller in the freezer until ready to use.  This will make sure that your wine chiller is always chilled and always ready for use.  The instructions states that you should pour about a 1/4 cup or glass of wine from the bottle ( I just dranked a 1/4 cup from the bottle...no biggie!), screw that tip to the metal rod and place chiller in the wine bottle until the rubber part of the tip is secure...almost like you are re-corking the bottle.

Once you pour the wine from the wine chiller, it also aerates the wine to a more pleasant smooth taste.  The wine chiller also keeps your wine chilled to the perfect temp.  I will admit, I thought this wine chiller would keep my bottle of wine chilled if I left the bottle out for several hours, but found that although it didn't keep it chilled several hours, it did, however, keep it perfectly chilled for at least 2 hours.  Not bad for a bottle of wine being left out that long.
